What’s the secret to making a long weekend feel loooooong? Do something different each day. It may seem counterintuitive, but having activities to reminisce about at the end can help stave off the Monday scaries. No need to go overboard, though (it’s still a weekend, after all): Turns out doing simple, soul-filling things—like swimming in the ocean, enjoying a languorous meal with loved ones, or roasting marshmallows in the backyard to the flicker of fireflies—is an effective way to slow down time.

SATURDAY: ALL ABOARD

Start the weekend on a high note by packing up the cooler—a few helpful tips on how to best do that here—and hightailing it to the nearest sailable body of water with boat rentals. You’ll probably be there a while, so it’s best to bring anything you might need: snacks, skin care, an ample supply of sparkling wine…

SUNDAY: BRUNCH CHEZ YOU

Truth: Sharing a meal with people you love is how some of the best, most cherished memories are made. If that meal happens to take place at your place, atop a gorgeously appointed table—complete with linen tablecloth, Italian porcelain, and floral arrangements that last forever—even better.

MONDAY: THE LAST SOIRÉE OF THE SEASON
